Visionary Imagery
From Bucharest to Lisbon — a creative odyssey blending photography, painting and drawing into evocative, dream-infused works that challenge perception and stir the soul.
I’m Dan St. Andrei — art director, photographer and painter working across creative disciplines to build a unique visual world. I believe that everyday life hides light, mystery and stories waiting to be discovered. Through portrait, surreal and symbolic compositions, I transform reality into a personal dreamscape — inviting you to linger, reflect and see the familiar anew.

PAINTINGS
Actually, I’ve been painting for a long time — quietly, in parallel with everything else. I never exhibited those works; only a few close friends have seen them. It was a private territory, a place where I could breathe without purpose.
Now I feel it’s time to bring that side forward, because painting represents me most truthfully at this point in my life.

Dan Andrei’s work emerges from a life spent navigating between visual precision and poetic dissolution — from decades in advertising, to the contemplative light of Portugal, to a mature return to painting.
His canvases excavate the human face as a site of memory and erosion, where identity appears only to vanish beneath successive layers of gesture.
In an age oversaturated with frictionless digital imagery, Andrei reclaims the tactile and the imperfect, allowing silence, slowness, and the human hand to regain their authority.
His painting marks not a reinvention, but a convergence — the echo of images once captured, now transformed into deeper emotional terrain.
His photography, marked by atmospheric tension and a refined sense of composition, acts as the silent architecture beneath his paintings — a disciplined way of seeing that he now deliberately fractures, slows down, and transforms into tactile, human gesture.
Dan Andrei is exclusively represented by ARTHALLE Gallery; for acquisition inquiries or to request availability of his works, please contact the gallery directly.
